Presidents Message 2008

Dear Members:

On a grey February day, it gives me great pleasure to write this letter in anticipation of another warm and relaxing summer at the Flower Valley Bath & Racquet Club. Once again this year we will have a full schedule of social activities and summer sports teams for our children.  This website includes our social schedule for the summer as well as information for our summer swim, dive and tennis teams.  The Flower Valley Frogs swim team will be led by Joey Mechak and our pre-team will be led by Sue Chen.  Returning to coach the dive team is Head Coach Ashley Goins and Assistant Coach Brittany Powell.  Unfortunately, Wayne Randolph will be relocating to Texas and we are now searching for a new head of our tennis program.   I encourage you to explore all of the team and social activities offered this summer. Participating on a team or in a social activity is the best way to maximize your membership.

The financial condition of your Club remains strong.  Although the Club’s expenses continue to increase each year, we are pleased that this is the fourth year with no increase in your membership fees.    

The Board asks its entire membership to help us have a safe and fun summer by respecting all of the Club rules and regulations and by obeying the lifeguards on duty. Your board is working hard to improve safety and security at the pool.  This summer you will find more clearly posted rules, more lifeguard coverage during the open swim periods, and more closely controlled access to Club facilities.  Please make sure that your family and guests comply with our rules and regulations and with the entrance procedures at the guard station.

Finally, I would like to thank our past president, Barbara Brower as well as the other retiring members of the board, Tracey Powell and Ron Gross for their hard work and tireless dedication to the Club over the past three years.  In addition to your board, there are countless volunteers dedicated to making Flower Valley one of the most successful summer swim and tennis clubs in Montgomery County.  Please contact any board member to learn how you can share your time and talents with the Flower Valley Bath & Racquet Club community.
